Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for several years. When she was a kid, Sara was racially taunted by American citizens of all races. When she was in 9th grade she began to feel more secure after being acknowledged by her teachers as a success for singing at a school's audition. It not only increased her confidence, but also her goals changed. When she was 22 she was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School. She began her career when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and The You've Got Mail film. Her biggest breakthrough was when she appeared in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. The recognition grew even more when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. She is a popular singer. she also has released songs and plays. In addition, she has been a vocal advocate for LGBT concerns.
